Vote by Mail Information
In Illinois, you can request a mail-in ballot up to 5 days before the General Election. Applications can be submitted online, by mail, or in person at your local election office. You do not need to provide a reason for requesting a mail-in ballot as this requirement was removed in 2009.

- Return Method: Mail or drop off at designated locations
Completed mail-in ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and received within 14 days after the election to be counted.
